Basic Composition/Size
Portland cement, gound sand, cellulose fiber, and selected additives.
HARDIBACKER ®
ceramic tile backerboard contains no asbestos or formaldehyde.

HARDIBACKER ®
ceramic tile backerboard is recognized as an interior substrate in
National Evaluation Service (NES), Inc., Report No. NER-405
(BOCA, ICBO, SBCCI); City of Los
Angeles, Research Report No. 24862; City of New
York MEA number 223-93M; CCMC
Evaluation Report 12678-R; HUD Materials Releases 1263b
and 1268b
and the 2001 Tile Council of America handbook. These documents should
also be consulted for additional information concerning the suitability
of this product for specific applications.
Durability
James Hardie's fiber-cement building products are autoclaved and are
resistant to moisture, impacts, and termites.
Flexural Strength
Based on typical Equilibrium Moisture Content: 2100 psi when tested in
accordance with ASTM test method C1185.
Non-Combustibility
HARDIBACKER ®
ceramic tile backerboard is recognized for use in non-combustible
construction in NER-405 and CCMC Evaluation report 12678-R.
